CueNet Audio Player Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026 • Last updated: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Galadriel Labs ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use CueNet Audio Player, our hi-res audio player application for Android and related support services.

Summary

CueNet is built local-first. Your audio library, playlists, bookmarks, equalizer settings, and network source credentials stay on your device. We do not require an account, we do not sync your listening data to our servers, and we do not show ads. The only information we may receive is crash and diagnostic data to improve the app, and any messages you send us for support.

Information CueNet May Collect

CueNet Audio Player is designed as a local-first app. It does not require an account and does not transmit your audio library or listening data to our servers. Depending on which features you use, the app may access or store:

  • Local audio library: file paths, titles, artists, albums, genres, track numbers, durations, embedded album art references, and other metadata for audio files on your device, OTG drives, or network sources — processed locally to build your library view.
  • Network source credentials: server addresses, share names, usernames, and passwords for SMB, WebDAV, or other network storage sources you configure — stored locally on your device and used only to connect to those sources on your behalf.
  • Playback state and preferences: current track position, playback queue, repeat and shuffle settings, equalizer configuration, balance, pitch, speed, replay gain, crossfade, and sleep timer settings — stored locally so your experience persists between sessions.
  • Playlists and bookmarks: playlist names, track order, bookmark positions, and associated metadata you create in the app — saved locally on your device.
  • App preferences: theme (light, dark, black), day/night mode, display preferences, notification settings, Android Auto configuration, and other personalization choices you make.
  • Internet radio stations: stream URLs, station names, and favorites you add — stored locally on your device.
  • Device and app diagnostics: device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and error information used to identify and fix reliability issues. This may be reported to us through platform crash-reporting mechanisms.
  • Support communications: messages, contact information, and any attachments you provide when you contact us for help.

What CueNet Does NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials.
  • We do not upload your audio files, library metadata, playlists, or listening history to our servers.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not display ads, and we do not use advertising SDKs or share data with advertising networks.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • CueNet does not require or support user accounts. There is no sign-in, no cloud library sync, and no server-side profile.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to operate CueNet and provide the features you use, including to:

  • Build and display your local audio library, playlists, smart playlists, and playback queue.
  • Connect to and browse SMB, WebDAV, OTG, and other network or external storage sources you configure.
  • Resume playback, restore queue, and apply your equalizer and audio settings between sessions.
  • Stream internet radio and HLS stations you add to the app.
  • Provide Android Auto integration and headset, gesture, notification, and volume-button controls.
  • Diagnose crashes, playback errors, format compatibility issues, and other technical problems.
  • Respond to support requests and assist with troubleshooting.

Network and Storage Access

CueNet accesses network storage (SMB, WebDAV, SFTP) and OTG drives only when you explicitly configure a source and initiate browsing or playback. Credentials you enter for network sources are stored locally on your device using Android's standard secure storage mechanisms and are not transmitted to us.

When you stream internet radio, your device connects directly to the station's server. CueNet does not proxy or log these connections beyond what is needed for playback.

Platform Services

CueNet is distributed through the Google Play Store and may rely on Android platform services for functionality such as audio output, media session controls, notifications, Android Auto, and crash reporting. These platform services may collect or process information according to their own terms and privacy policies (for example, Google Play Services and Google's privacy policy).

We do not control or receive individually identifiable data from these platform services beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

Your Choices

  • Local data: You can delete individual library entries, playlists, bookmarks, and network sources directly in the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
  • Network sources: You can remove any configured SMB, WebDAV, or other network source at any time from the app's Network Storage settings. Removing a source also removes its stored credentials from your device.
  • Diagnostics: You may be able to limit app diagnostics and crash reporting through your device settings or Play Store settings.
  • Legal rights: Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of certain personal information. Because CueNet stores data locally, most data is directly under your control. For any data we hold (such as support communications), contact us to exercise your rights.

Data Retention

All library data, playlists, bookmarks, preferences, and network source credentials are stored locally on your device and retained until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. We do not retain copies of this data on our servers.

Support communications and crash reports may be retained for a reasonable period to resolve the issue and improve the app, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

Children's Privacy

CueNet Audio Player is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support channels, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website.
