This Privacy Policy explains how the QR Code Maker mobile application (the “App”) handles information. The App is published by Galadriel Labs (“we”, “us”, or “our”). If you have questions, contact us at qr-maker.support@galadriel.app.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Summary
QR Code Maker is designed to work offline-first. The codes you scan and generate are stored only on your device. We do not operate our own servers, we do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or contacts. The only data collected and shared with a third party is what our advertising provider (Google AdMob) uses to serve ads, and only where permitted by your consent choices.
Information the App handles
Camera
The App uses your device camera to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed on your device to detect codes. Camera images are not stored by the App and are not transmitted anywhere.
Codes you scan and create
QR/barcode content, titles, colors, an optional logo image reference, and related metadata are saved in a local database on your device so you can reuse them. This information stays on your device and is not uploaded to us. Deleting a record in the App, or uninstalling the App, removes this data.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the App displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process certain data, which can include:
- Advertising identifiers (e.g., the Android Advertising ID)
- Device information (such as device model, operating system, and general region)
- Approximate, non-precise location derived from IP address
- Ad interaction data
This data is collected by Google and, where applicable, shared with Google and its partners for advertising and measurement. We do not receive this data in an individually identifiable form.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we present a consent message via Google's User Messaging Platform before serving personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Stats → Privacy & Data → Manage ad consent.
Pro subscribers do not see ads.
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
If you purchase a Pro subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The App only receives confirmation of your entitlement status from Google Play.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
- We do not sell your personal information.
How data is stored and retained
Codes and settings are stored locally on your device for as long as you keep them or until you uninstall the App. Advertising data collected by Google is retained according to Google's policies.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
Your choices and rights
- Ad consent (EEA/UK/CH): change or withdraw consent any time via Stats → Privacy & Data → Manage ad consent.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device's system settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Local data: delete individual records in the App, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.
- Depending on your region (e.g., EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. To exercise these rights regarding data we control, contact us at qr-maker.support@galadriel.app.
Third-party services
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, within the App or store listing.
